MicroGroup part of TE Connectivity recently completed the installation of a new state of the art Tridex Electro Chemical Grinder (ECG). This new technology provides additional grinding capabilities for the high precision tight tolerance needle market. We continue our investment in new technology to support our customer’s growth and quality requirements.

Microgroup Expands with Additional 3D Printing Capabilities

MicroGroup continues to expand 3D printing capabilities with the purchase of a Markforged 3D Printer for our Toolmaking department. The addition of this printer allows for rapid production of high precision bend tooling and fixtures made from either nylon or fiberglass, significantly reducing the lead time for custom tooling and fixtures for our customers. In addition to drawing custom tubing, MicroGroup has the ability shape draw. Using a combination of Sink and Plug drawing, we are able to precision draw material into different shapes and sizes of tubes, from ovals and rectangles to more exotic shapes. MicroGroup Enhances Quality Inspection Processes with Installation of Second OGP Vision System

New System Allows for Greater Automation for Use on Both First Piece and Final Inspections MicroGroup has recently added a second SMARTSCOPE FLASH 500 to their quality department. The SMARTSCOPE FLASH 500 is a coordinate measurement machine that’s capable of handling the numerous inspection jobs that are required throughout the normal business day.
