Bending

Cryogenic biopsy deviceMicroGroup, part of TE Connectivity,  produces bends using a variety of methods including: CNC, rotary draw, fixed wiper and compression die. Size capacity ranges in diameter from .015″ to 1.5″ in.

For production runs, MicroGroup builds semi-automated machines run by PLC controls. Each bend jig is purpose built. Your part may have a critical need to maintain ID size, or it may require no tooling marks, or no use of oil when bending. MicroGroup can employ dedicated tooling and fixtures and the latest in CNC technology. Single or multi-plane bends can be performed on multi-axis, dual radius CNC equipment, ensuring efficiency and part-to-part consistency. CNC tube bending capacities include:

  • Six foot lengths maximum
  • Tube feed OD range from .015″ to .5″ , bar and wire ODs from .015″ to .252″
  • Wall thickness allowance from .003″ to .032″

analytical probesFor rapid prototyping, MicroGroup developed a proprietary bending machine stocked with a library of interchangeable bend dies. This ready-to-use tooling eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming custom work. The hypodermic, fractional and standard size tubes that can be bent using this method are as follows:

  • OD’s from .015″ to .280″
  • A radius range or 1.5 times the tube diameter up to a maximum of 1.50″
  • Angles from 1 degree to 120 degrees
