The above “item code” is an example to assist you in the ordering process. Initially developed as an internal code to accurately specify and control ALL-TUBE inventory, the item code is now widely utilized by MicroGroup customers to quickly and easily identify and specify tubing products.

Material: “Material” specification is required, and can contain any number of digits (text and/or numeric) between one (1) and four (4).

Tolerance Level: “Tolerance Level” is for Fractional Tubing. Please indicate F1 or F2. Click here for tolerance definition.

Nominal OD: “OD” (outside diameter) specification is required and must contain from two (2) to four (4) numeric digits. (i.e., .032″ = 0032, 5mm = 05)

By Sign: Inclusion of a “by sign” (X) is required at this position for most sizes.

Nominal Wall: “Wall” thickness specification is required for most sizes and must contain three (3) numeric digits. (.006″ = 006, .035″ = 035)

Mfg. Type (WD or SL): Welded (WD) or Seamless (SL) material specification is required.

303Stainless Steel Bar Stock: High in Corrosion resistance: Typically used in automatic machining operations.
304Stainless Steel Tubing: Good in Corrosion resistance: Most widely used stainless steel with good formability and can be readily welded.
304LStainless Steel Tubing: Good in Corrosion resistance: Offers better weld-ability than standard 304 Stainless Steel.
316Stainless Steel Tubing: Better in Corrosion resistance: Offers higher strength at higher temperature than 304 Stainless Steel. Often used for pumps, valves, marine applications, and chemical equipment.
316LStainless Steel Tubing: Better in Corrosion resistance:Offers better weld-ability than standard 316 Stainless Steel.
321Stainless Steel Tubing: Good in Corrosion resistance: Most similar to 304 Stainless Steel but with the addition of Titanium making it an excellent choice for prolonged, high temperature applications.
347Stainless Steel Tubing: High in Corrosion resistance: High resistance to prolonged heat and corrosion applications. This is well suited for power generation and engine applications.
430Stainless Steel Tubing: Good in Corrosion resistance:Combines good corrosion and heat resistance with good mechanical properties. Oxidation resistant to 1500 deg F and is used in many industrial and consumer products.
